Where are my notes stored?
Your notes remain available offline on your device. If private iCloud sync is enabled in your version, supported data also syncs through the private iCloud database associated with your Apple Account.
Does Better Notes send my writing to AI services?
No. The intelligence that organizes notes and recognizes supported details runs on your device. Better Notes does not send note text to a cloud AI service.
How do I restore or cancel a purchase?
Choose Restore Purchases in Better Notes to restore access. To manage a subscription, open iOS Settings, tap your Apple Account, choose Subscriptions, then Better Notes.
Why did a reminder not appear?
Confirm notifications are enabled for Better Notes and the reminder time is in the future. Focus modes and notification summaries may delay delivery. If the issue continues, include your device and iOS version when contacting support.
How do birthday reminders work?
For a clear birthday, Better Notes can schedule reminders one week before, one day before, and on the day. Repeat yearly is optional. Ambiguous dates must be confirmed first.
Can I export my notes?
Yes. Settings offers JSON and Markdown export. Exports may include private note bodies, so review them before sharing.
How do I recover a deleted note?
Open Recently Deleted and choose Restore. Emptying Recently Deleted or choosing Delete Forever is permanent.
How does Better Notes handle account-style notes?
It uses safer previews for account-style notes and keeps notification copy redacted. Better Notes does not provide credential autofill.
Why is a person missing or incorrect?
People detection is intentionally conservative. You can keep, rename, merge, or hide people. Better Notes does not access Contacts.
When reporting a problem
Include your device model, iOS or iPadOS version, Better Notes version, and the steps that caused the issue. Screenshots are useful when they do not contain private information.
